Operational Update from Engebø – Ramp-Up Progress
.
Nordic Mining provides an operational update from Engebø Rutile and Garnet (ERG), highlighting progress since the improvement plan was launched in January and the key priorities as the project advances towards steady state production.
In the video update, Nordic Mining CEO Finn Ivar Marum and ERG Managing Director Andrew Templeman share insights into the ramp-up process and the operational improvements currently underway at Engebø.
Nordic Mining continues to advance through the ramp-up phase. Since January, several technical and operational initiatives have been implemented, with early effects now becoming visible, particularly in the wet plant. In February, an independent third-party validation confirmed that the processing plant can operate at full design capacity.
“Over the past weeks and months, our work has focused on executing the ramp-up in a systematic and controlled manner. We still have challenges to resolve, but the direction is clear, and improvements are progressing step by step. Our priority now is stabilising performance to enable optimisation for ramp-up and steady state production at design capacity by year end,” says Finn Ivar Marum, CEO of Nordic Mining.

Process and logistics setup continues to support efficient operations as stabilisation improves
Overall, the improvement plan initiated in January is beginning to deliver results, with the main operational gains expected through Q2 as remaining bottlenecks are addressed.
Key operational focus areas
Wet plant improvements
Adjustments to water management and process control have improved water quality, supporting fewer downtime events and higher throughput. Additional effects are expected during Q2.
Rutile circuit
Further optimisation depends on stable dry plant performance. This remains a key focus area, supported by external rutile processing expertise now being brought in.
WHIMS circuits
Magnetic separators are being tuned and adjusted to increase capacity and ensure more stable output.
Nordic Mining will publish its next production update on 13 April, followed by the Q1 results presentation on 12 May.
